About The Project

As a preferred sign manufacturer for Walmart, Springfield Sign was entrusted to design, build and install a retro style sign for The Spark Cafe Soda Fountain, located in historic downtown Bentonville, AR. When given a rough sign idea from Walmart, Springfield Sign took it and ran with it! After only mocking up a handful of initial concepts, Walmart immediately fell in love with one of the designs in particular - a red and teal neon covered sign, completely reminiscent in style an color of the soda shop era in which Walmart wanted to capture. The sign now prominently hangs over the entrance of The Spark Cafe Soda Fountain. The cafe, which is a tribute to Sam Walton's love of ice cream, resides next door to the Walmart Museum, the original home of Walton's 5&10, where Walmart began. The Spark Cafe Soda Fountain sign has now become, and will forever be, a unique spark of interest for this already historically filled area.
